State of Young Philly is an annual two-week event series, which brings together and leverages the voice of young Philadelphia. All-volunteer group Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) organizes the events series.
The topic of last year’s inaugural edition was “Imagining Philly’s Future”. During the series, over 50 organizations and 600 young professionals came together to brainstorm ways to improve Philadelphia in a variety of areas. YIP set priorities, created event programming, and advocated policies based on the results of the programming.
The topic of this year’s series is “Building Our Future”. The goals of the event series include creating actionable steps that can be enacted over the coming year.
During the event series, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- ENGAGE – Young Philadelphians will have an opportunity to engage with their peers, organizational leaders, and government representatives and be exposed to innovative approaches
- CONNECT – Young Philadelphians will connect with other young leaders and organizations in the City; and
- REPRESENT – Young Philadelphians will share feedback on current practices and help discuss key ideas for building a better future for the City;
